The Early November - Fifteen Years

January 20, 2017 · BTR-044

Fifteen Years is a career-spanning look back at one of the most important indie rock bands of our time. Its 15 songs (tracklisting below) are pulled from every single release of the band's career, freshly recorded in a new light. Frontman Ace Enders engineered, mixed and mastered the album, which sees the group stripping down these tracks and presenting them in an acoustic format.

Speak the Truth...Even If Your Voice Shakes

November 4, 2016 · BTR-043

A new band featuring vocalist Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail and multiple members of Finch. The group’s first release will be a two-song self-titled 7”, and will be released digitally in November 2016 with a follow-up vinyl release in January 2017. Speak The Truth will tour and release more music in the new year. Senses Fail most recently released its sixth studio album, Pull The Thorns From Your Heart, in 2015, while Finch released released its third studio album, Back To Oblivion, in 2014, following a lengthy global tour supporting the 10-year anniversary of their seminal release, What It Is To Burn. The band also released a career-spanning acoustic album, Steel, Wood and Whiskey, in 2015.

All Get Out - Nobody Likes a Quitter

October 28, 2016 · BTR-042

Nobody Likes A Quitter was produced and co-written by Manchester Orchestra's Andy Hull and Robert McDowell, and proves to be a more nuanced and restrained affair than the aggression of 2011's The Season and Movement — but trust us when we say it’s no less vulnerable or emotionally exhausting.

Romp - Departure From Venus

March 4, 2016 · BTR-037

ROMP's debut LP, Departure From Venus, is very good, and it's due out March 4.

ROMP is tight. If you listen to the first single "Last Year," you'll find yourself in the middle of a kinda punk-y, kinda poppy track where vocalist Madison Klarer injects stark lyricism over driving, guitar-led musicianship. We think it might be called angry pop, or maybe it's called punk-pop, or something like that, but whatever it's called, we think this New Jersey band is awesome, and Departure From Venus is just the first step in them figuring out their sound.

Devinyl Splits No. 5: Kevin Devine, Owen

December 18, 2015 · BTR-036

Due out December 18, Devinyl Splits No. 5 is a 7" split featuring Owen and Kevin Devine. This split features two brand new original songs. They are both fantastic.

These CDs are available from the band on tour and also in our webstore.

The Miracle of '86 - Every Famous Last Word

January 19, 2016 · BTR-034

For me, Every Famous Last Word is “the” Miracle of 86 record. It marked a crazy fertile growth spurt, in confidence, performance, arrangement, intention. Pretty much all of my peak Miracle memories are framed by the experience of writing/rehearsing/demoing/recording/performing this music (summer 2001 - summer 2003) - our first significant US & European touring, first New York headlining shows of consequence, first SXSW, first US/international press support, and a bunch of really fun/blurry shows with some pretty serious indie/punk/emo luminaries.

We were kids, relatively speaking - I was 21 when I first showed Chris & Mike what would become the bulk of the record. We added Skinner in October 2001, and his enthusiasm, intelligence, experience & vision kicked us in the ass & made us a much more serious & formidable (if volatile & unpredictable) outfit. This was first time I remember stepping back & writing lyrics/melodies to songs borne of jamming as a band, and those songs became our best, more urgent, frenetic stuff, including the title track, our finest moment, still one of my favorite things I’ve ever been involved with making. I loved sliding over and being a sideman on “Southern State”, supporting Mike’s development as a songwriter, watching that open up our capacities. And this record brought Chris Bracco into our world; luckily for me, he’s been a producer/bandmate/collaborator ever since.

I could go on, about how I wouldn’t still be doing what I’m doing now (for better & for worse) without this album; how messy & complicated things got for us not long after its release; how silly some of those complications look in the rear view; how thrilling it was doing three shows in 2013 after 9 years apart (an experience that wasn’t without its attendant insanity); and about how brutal and shocking it was to lose Skinner suddenly in September 2014, to know now that those will be our last shows. But that’s all gleaned with the benefit of hindsight, re-contextualizing. It better honors the spirit of Every Famous Last Word, our best record - available now for the first time on vinyl in North America - to let it tell its own story, in its own voice, on its own terms. I hope you enjoy hearing it. - Kevin Devine

Kevin Devine - Put Your Ghost to Rest

January 19, 2016 · BTR-033

Put Your Ghost to Rest is ten years old this year, and it hasn’t aged one bit. The album was produced by Rob Schnapf and marked the first of several future collaborations to come between the producer and Kevin Devine. While Kevin has many fan favorite songs, Ghost boasts major ones like “Brooklyn Boy” and “Just Stay,” which are still staples of his set ten years later.

Bad Timing has had the incredible pleasure of working with Kevin over the past eighteen months on about 10 different releases, and though we say something similar each time, we mean it when we say that being able to bring Ghost back to life on vinyl is one of the more special moments in this label’s history.

Devinyl Splits No. 4: Kevin Devine, Cymbals Eat Guitars

November 13, 2015 · BTR-032

Due out November 13, Devinyl Splits No. 4 is a 7" split featuring Cymbals Eat Guitars and Kevin Devine. This split features two brand new original songs. They are both fantastic.

Romp - Sorry, Not Sorry

October 30, 2015 · BTR-030

Produced by Jesse Cannon (Man Overboard, Somos), Sorry, Not Sorry has already drawn rave reviews from fans, allowing ROMP to travel as far as New Orleans to win over audiences with their playful, undeniable pop- and punk-flecked sound. It also launched ROMP into a slot opening for fellow New Brunswick band (and personal heroes) Screaming Females in early 2015 — traction that should serve the quartet well as they ready their debut full-length, due out in early-2016 on Bad Timing.

Lydia - This December; It's One More and I'm Free

September 30, 2015 · BTR-031

This is a 2xLP with a d-side screen print housed in a gatefold jacket.

Sudden Suspension - There's a Bigger Picture Here

June 16, 2015 · BTR-026

With the band’s signing to Bad Timing Records, a nod as one of Alternative Press’ 100 Bands You Need to Know in 2015, and the release of their new EP, There's A Bigger Picture Here, things are moving faster than Stasi could have ever hoped.

Like so many bands, Sudden Suspension is the result of teenage friends discovering music, picking up instruments, and dreaming of one day turning their passions into something more. Stasi started playing music at age 12, and with his cousin on bass, the duo played sets of cover songs at local festivals, recruiting area guitarists and drummers to round out the sound.

Old Grey - Demo 2011

May 21, 2015 · BTR-024

We're releasing, for the first time on vinyl, Old Gray's 2011 demo release. This one-sided 12" with a screen-printed B-side (photo mock-up to your left) is a split release with Cam Boucher's new label, Flower Girl Records!

Head North - Bloodlines

March 24, 2015 · BTR-023

Bloodlines is a beginning. It's not Head North's first release, but it's their first release on Bad Timing Records and it feels like we're starting something great together.

It's a six-song EP that we've pressed onto one side of a 12" record. The B-side is screen-printed with a silk-screened image. Bloodlines comes out on March 24, 2015.

The first split (out February 24) is with Matthew Caws, frontman of the indescribably fantastic band Nada Surf.

All Get Out - Movement

April 14, 2015 · BTR-021

Movement isn’t a reintroduction or regeneration — it’s a reaffirmation. It's a torrent of spirit at its most raw moments, an unabashed exorcism of the things that keep us awake at night in the pursuit of a life with deserved purpose. Continuing to gravitate toward the unoccupied spaces between indie and rock, All Get Out’s return to the spotlight in a co-release between Favorite Gentlemen Recordings and Bad Timing Records presents an opportunity for listeners to fall in love all over again with one of the most dynamic groups in this genre.
